Broadcast Messenger

Broadcast messenger allows you to send an one-way message to every Infinity user or to specific groups of users. Having sufficient permissions you can setup a broadcast message that will be displayed upon start-up until that broadcast message is withdrawn.

Tip: This method of messaging is useful for communicating information, such as motivational messages or up-to-date product information.

To access Broadcast Messages, select the following menu options:

The Broadcast editor will now appear on an editing tab.

Broadcast groups

The left-hand side of the screen contains a tree containing all the groups you can send broadcasts to. The symbol next to the tree item signifies the type of group you are sending to.

Create and Send Broadcast Message

To create a new broadcast message select the group you wish to send the broadcast to and click the button on the toolbar. An 'Add Broadcast' pop-up window is displayed.

You can specify the following:

• Automatically pop the message (checkbox): Check this if you want the message to be automatically shown to the recipient(s)
• Valid Until (date): Optionally select the date when the message's validity is about to end
• Icon: Select an icon and background colour to be displayed in the top bar of your broadcast message. To change the icon, double-click the exclamation icon area and select an icon from the list. To change the background colour, click the colour bar below the icon area to toggle between green, red, blue, orange, purple and black backgrounds.
• Message: Type the actual message you want to send

Then click the Send button to send the broadcast message. The message will be seen by members of the target group immediately (if they are currently logged-in) or when they next login.

To remove an already sent message select it by clicking on the exclamation icon area and click the button on the toolbar.
