Check currently installed releases

Locate the shortcut and/or executable

SVNClient should have been installed in a central location, usually on the primary application server (together with the Licence service, the Gateway service and other Manager services). You will therefore need to connect to the server (for example using Remote Desktop).

Once connected, you can run the application using the corresponding shortcut. If you do not yet have a shortcut available on your profile, you should be able to create it from the executable path. The default location for the executable is "C:\Infinity\SVN\Infinity.SVNClient.exe".

Select the element to check/upgrade

To obtain the current version revision of an element, you will need to select the element in the drop-down.

The drop-down list should hold a list of all the services and applications which can be upgraded. This usually consists of:

  • Live: The Console application and web services used on the live environment
  • Test: The Console application and web services which are used to test the latest versions without impacting the live environment
  • Licensing: This is for the Licensing service
  • Gateway: This for the Gateway service
  • Manager_xxx: There should have a section for each manager service in your installation

Check the current revision status

Once you have selected the element in the drop-down, you can see all the linked SVN sources below, displayed in three columns:

  • The SVN source (for example Infinity40)
  • The main version (for example v44)
  • The current revision (for example 483)

Check the destination target

When you select an SVN source in the list, the destination path will be displayed underneath. There may be multiple paths displayed if the SVN source consists of multiple elements, or if you have to update multiple servers are the same time. A common example of this is when you have update both the Console application and the corresponding Web Services.

Review

This sample screen shows that all components are on v4.4, with Console on revision 483, DevExpress on revision 3, QA on revision 48, Timesheet on revision 36 and Callmedia on revision 111.
