View KB

Agents can search the knowledgebase and see their own Recent Activity by using the Agent screen.

The View KB screen contains the following panels.

Categories panel

This panel on the left shows the KB articles grouped in the categories and sub-categories defined in the Article Editor.

  • Select a category to expand its sub-categories. Click it again to collapse it
  • Select a sub-category to expand its articles. Click it again to collapse it
  • Select an article to view its details on the main panel to the right.

The following icons exist at the top of the panel:

Icon Description

Search the knowledgebase. Type some keywords (defined in the Article Editor) separated by a space in the text box and press <Enter> key to submit. Search results appear on the top of the categories, if any.

Tip: If you enable FullText Search on the kbart_Text field (via the SQL Management Studio) you can perform a full search on the text of the article.

The hamburger button collapses the displayed categories to a very narrow column saving screen space when a script is also displayed. Click again the button to expand the categories.

Details panel

This panel shows basic, read-only article information such as Title, Article text, Last Modified date and Counts. To edit an article navigate to the Article Editor.

Clicking the View icon opens the article in the Article Viewer.
