Menu editor

The menu editor allows you to customize the Infinity Console menu and it is available by clicking the Edit Menu Options button in the Environment Settings and Information.

This will the open the main editor, which shows all the available menu items in a tree hierarchy.

This vertical toolbar at the left is a replica of the console's main icon menu. Selecting an icon updates the two panels on the right accordingly.

You can perform the following actions:

Action Description
Add new menu item

To add a new menu item click the icon on the top of the menu items panel.

  • <icon>: Clicking the rectangle icon box on the left of the textbox allows you to select an icon for the menu item through theImage Selector.
  • Text: The name of the new menu
  • Show in Projects (checkbox): Whether that menu item will be displayed in a standard Project menu.
  • Show in Timesheet Project (checkbox): Whether that menu item will be displayed in a Timesheet Project menu.
  • Show in External Project (checkbox): Whether that menu item will be displayed in a Custom Project menu.

Note: For more information on the three types of projects mentioned above refer to Add New Project.

Click the OK button to add the new menu item to the system.
Reorder menu item Select an item and click the arrow   icons to change its order in relation to the other items.
Move to another main icon

Select the item and drag it to a new main menu icon on the left. Once this is done, the new main menu icon is automatically selected, with the amended menu item displayed in green.
Edit menu item

Double-click an item or right-click it and select Edit on the context menu.

After editing the parameters click the OK button to apply your changes. Once amended, the menu will be displayed in green.
Delete menu item Right-click an item and select Delete on the context menu.

You can perform the following actions:

Action Description
Add new submenu item

To add a new submenu item click the icon on the top of the submenu items panel.

  • Select item: Selecting one of the available item from all menus and submenus allows you to use the values of that item as a base for the new one.

    Tip: This is useful when you wish to use an existing item (for example to make it available to multiple menus, or to the same menu but on a different project).

  • <icon>: Clicking the rectangle icon box on the left of the textbox allows you to select an icon for the submenu item through theImage Selector.
  • Text: The name of the new submenu

  • Menu List: Upon selecting anything except <None> for this parameter an extended drop-down list will be automatically generated in the main menu, with the corresponding available submenu items.

    Note: If you select a menu list the Edit Object parameter should be filled in accordingly.

  • Access Category: This allows you to restrict access to the submenu item. Only a User/ Access Level/ Role with access to a permission from this submenu will have the item available.
  • Webservice URL: Type the destination URL of the submenu item if required
  • Is this a Project Item?: If you wish this submenu item to be available only on a specific project, check the box and selected the project in the drop-down list. If you wish to make it available on multiple projects, you will have to do the following:
    • Assign the item it to a single project
    • Create as many additional items as the number of the additional projects.
    • In the Select Item parameter of each new item select the item assigned to the first project
    • In the Is This a Project Item? parameter select the other projects

  • Password re-entry required?: Check this to force the user to re-type his password before opening the corresponding menu item.

  • Produce audit informaion?: if checked, and if enabled within the DLL, this will inform the DLL that it should log its activity.
  • DLL object information: this is the pointer to the DLL, and should be set based on the information provided by the person who built the DLL.

Click the OK button to add the new submenu item to the system.

Select the item and drag it to the new menu on the left panel. Once this is done, the new menu is automatically selected, with the amended submenu item displayed in green.
Edit submenu item

Delete submenu item Right-click an item and select Delete on the context menu.

Important: None of your action changes in the menu structure is registered to the system until you click the icon.
