Access Levels

The options a user can see on the main Menu Bar and what they are allowed to do within each control module are determined by their permissions. Permissions can be allocated directly to a user, or can be inherited from the user's access level, or the user's roles. The access levels are fully user-definable in Infinity.

To edit an Access Level, select the following menu options:

Overview

An access level determines the base level of permissions you have. There are only three fixed access levels:

  • Agent: Permissions for call-handling modules but not administration modules.
  • Timesheet Administrator: Has minimal permissions over general Infinity options but has permissions to everything within the Timesheet module.
  • Super Administrator: All permissions, by default.

Access levels can be created in-between these to accommodate specific roles within a company, as necessary.

Permissions can be additionally assigned to extend what a base Access Level can do. For example, Agents could be given access to the Knowledgebase module, if required.

If you didn’t want to extend the entire Access Level and would rather give individual users extra permissions instead, this can be done in the Manage Users control module.

Functionality

On the left-hand side of the Access Level screen appears a list of all the currently defined Access Levels. Selecting one of them shows on the right-hand side its parameters for viewing or editing:

  • Active (checkbox): When checked (by default) the access level is active
  • Description: A descriptive name for the Access Level
  • Value: The value determines the Access Levels position in the Access Level hierarchy

Warning: The value of the access level should not be changed unless you know what you are doing.
